Hormoz Naficy  

In 1981, he joined the oil industry, in the United Kingdom , and held several posts with Murphy Eastern Oil Company (a subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation). In 1988 he co-founded Hydrocarbons Venture Ltd., a UK-based oil and gas consultancy and service company which has managed various projects on behalf of international oil companies. Between 1998 and 2002, Hormoz was responsible for business development in Iran for Saga Petroleum and later Norsk Hydro. He held the position of Senior Advisor at Saga Petroleum and then Vice-President for Business Development at Hydro Zagros, Norsk Hydro' s Iranian subsidiary.

Hormoz Naficy, Managing Director, obtained both his B.A and M.A in Economics from the University of Rhode Island , U.S.A. He held a number of senior government posts first in the Iranian Ministry of Economy and later in the Ministry of Industry and Mines. He was appointed Director General for International Affaires in the Ministry of Industry and Mines in 1977, and in 1979 was asked to continue in that position by the new post-revolutionary government. While serving with the government he represented Iran in numerous international organizations and bilateral commissions. He was involved in the development of general management programs for business and government executives at the Iran Centre for Management Studies (established with the participation of the Harvard Business School ) and lectured at the Banking Sciences Institute in Tehran .
